Client: Warehousing facilities utilizing a white board to track inbound/outbound deliveries on dry-erase board

Brief: Study to obtain feedback on new proposed dashboard for tracking inbound & outbound deliveries. The goal of this study is to gain site specific feedback such as who utilizes the information within the dash, specific site visibility needs, and replace an outdated way of inbound/outbound orders.

Research Questions: 

Warm up:

  1. What is your current role?

  2. Are you familiar with the dock dashboard?

  3. How often do you utilize the dashboard?

Deep Dive: 

  1. What feature on the dock dashboard do you find most helpful?

  2. How has the dashboard improved your SOW?

  3. What are your current pain points? 

  4. Does the dashboard keep you updated with necessary information in real time? What are some examples? 

  5. Is all of the data available at your site? 

  6. Is there any data you believe would be useful to see on this dashboard? Why?

  7. Are you using anything to supplement the dash that would be helpful to incorporate into it?

  8. Is there anything the team would ideally adjust or even swap out? 

  9. Do you use VPN for this tool? Have you had any issues getting data to populate?

  10. Do you have a list of users you would give access to for this tool? 

Usability Testing:

  1. Walk me through the features you look to on a day-to-day basis

  2. What is the prep column?

  3. What do these icons mean to you?

  4. Is customer name the best way to identify each inbound/outbound?

Outcome:

  1. Gained qualitative feedback on site specific pain-points and needs for tracking deliveries and outbound orders

  2. Replaced whiteboard method eliminating human error and delays in process

  3. Increased productivity and overall user satisfaction by 100%
